H2GO’s Jared Glick Named NC AWWA-WEA’s Water Distribution Operator of the Year

10/20/2020 1:49:20 PM

In October, the North Carolina American Water Works Association and the North Carolina Water Environment Association (NC AWWA-WEA) named Brunswick Regional Water and Sewer H2GO’s Water Superintendent Jared Glick their Water Distribution Operator of the Year. This award is given to an individual in the water industry who has contributed to the successful operation and maintenance of their collections system.

Mr. Glick currently serves as the Water Superintendent for H2GO, where he has been employed for nine years. Jared currently holds over 20 industry related certifications, including the highly coveted Utility Management Certification. Jared has served in many different roles with H2GO, including Wastewater Collections Systems Technician, Back Up Collections Systems ORC, and others. When H2GO teamed up with Brunswick Family Assistance and Brunswick Senior Resources to help deliver commodities to those who could not get out due to COVID-19, Jared was one of the first employees to jump at the opportunity to help the community.

“Jared is an exemplary leader within our organization,” said Bob Walker, H2GO’s Executive Director. “He holds his employees to a high standard, and himself to an even higher standard and it shows in his day-to-day activities.”

Mr. Glick was recognized for his achievement at H2GO’s Regular Board Meeting on October 15th, 2020. He will be recognized during NC AWWA-WEA’s 2020 Virtual Annual Conference scheduled for November 2-4, 2020. Additionally, his accomplishment will be recognized on the NC AWWA-WEA website and a future issue of NC Currents.

The NC AWWA-WEA is dedicated to providing water and wastewater education, training, and service in an effort to protect public health and the environment. They have over 2,500 members in North Carolina representing municipal and private utilities, consulting engineering firms, government agencies, companies who provide equipment and supplies to the industry, and representatives of academia who teach and conduct research in water and wastewater-related areas.
