HYDRANT & WATER SYSTEM FLUSHING POSTPONED

HYDRANT AND WATER SYSTEM FLUSHING POSTPONED
As you may know, the County changes its water disinfectant from chloramines to free chlorine each year to implement an effective flushing program. This year the County's changeover occurred between September 12th and mid-October. Typically, H2GO would have started flushing hydrants last month, but with the water shortage emergency, the flushing program will have to wait until December 8th, at the earliest. Daily monitoring of chlorine levels is performed to ensure optimal levels of disinfectant reach all areas of the water system. The discoloration, cloudiness, sediments, and change in taste/smell are not harmful, just aesthetically not too appealing. Please be patient with us. As soon as the water conservation advisories are lifted and the County changes back to their chloramine disinfectant, we will begin the flushing program to clear up these issues.
